Who were the winners and losers of the 2024 NBA draft? While we don’t know exactly how each prospect will fare over the next few seasons, we can make decisions about picks based on selection value and how teams have run the board.
Let’s grade how the 30 teams did in the first two days of the league’s draft, which was selected by a large collection of French players and, of course, Brony James’ entry into the NBA.
Generally speaking, my grades for teams depend on how well they maximize the picks entering the draft, not just on how much talent they have accumulated, because that’s more a product of last season’s record (or past trades) than decision making. the draft I use my player projections as a guide to potential value — based on their age, performance and other metrics — and consider whether they are drafted higher or lower than those projections.
