JACK Catterall is perfectly capable of boxing his way to a decision and the Boxing News’ app users reckon that skillset will come in handy on Saturday night when he faces Regis Prograis in the Co-op Live Arena, Manchester.

Catterall has negotiated his way through the 12 rounds six times and the 10-round distance also six times. Therefore, pacing himself against Prograis should not be an issue. Almost 76 per cent of users are tipping the Chorley boxer to win on points once again.

This bout was originally supposed to take place at the end of August, but Catterall suffered an injury and the card was postponed. Now back fit and firing, Catterall, 29-1 (13 KOs), will need to win in order to keep his world title ambitions on track. Both men have faced off against Josh Taylor. Prograis’ loss to Taylor in 2019 was arguably the highlight performance of both his and Taylor’s respective careers. Catterall’s two fights with Taylor, meanwhile, were packed with vitriol and contention.

Veteran Prograis is 29-2 and the puncher of the pair, having demolished 24 opponents. In his last outing, Prograis was being demolished, although he still managed to last the distance against Devin Haney, who pounded ‘Rougarou’ mercilessly for 12. The former world champion couldn’t win a round and may be damaged goods.

Perhaps Catterall could even force the first stoppage loss of Prograis’ career? Have your say by downloading the Boxing News app here.
