The Reds will square off against a familiar face and former Red in CF Montréal’s Raheem Edwards on Saturday evening. A product of the Toronto FC Academy, the Toronto, Ontario native signed with Toronto FC on March 2, 2017, and became the 14th player in club history to sign for the First Team from the TFC Academy. The Canadian winger made his club debut against Vancouver Whitecaps FC on June 29, 2016, in the Canadian Championship. Edwards scored one goal and registered six assists in 25 combined appearances (MLS regular season, MLS Cup Playoffs and Canadian Championship) in 2017, helping the Reds win the MLS Cup, Supporters’ Shield and Canadian Championship and complete the domestic treble in a historic campaign. Following his season with TFC, Edwards spent time across MLS with Montreal Impact, Chicago Fire, Minnesota United, Los Angeles FC and LA Galaxy before re-joining CF Montréal in December 2023.
