Jurgen Klopp was honored by the media following Liverpool’s 2-0 win over Wolves as his incredible spell as manager came to an end.
The Reds got the job done in a professional manner on Sunday afternoon, helped by Nelson Semedo’s red card, but Klopp was the sole focus.
A sun-drenched Anfield witnessed the German hugging his players and giving a brilliant speech after the game, even chanting Arne Slott’s name!

The Guardian‘s Jonathan Wilson could only wax lyrical about what Klopp has achieved at Liverpool:
“Klopp strengthened Liverpool. He took the longing seen in a runner-up season under Brendan Rodgers, nurtured it and satisfied it.
“He has made Liverpool an indisputably elite club again after many years of faded greatness. Now there’s no need for their fans to always harken back to the days of Shankly and Paisley; The Klopp years have their own special flavor.
“It may not be as decked out in silverware as the golden years of the late 70s and early 80s, but this is a different world: you take your fame as you find it.
“There have been great performances, games that will never be forgotten, from the 4-3 Europa League win over Borussia Dortmund in 2016 to the 3-0 Champions League success against Manchester City in 2018 to the 4-0 comeback against Barcelona. in the second leg of the semi-finals of the Champions League 2019.
“And memories are no small thing; trophies may be tangible signs of success, they may be the point of the whole enterprise, but these are the games that fans will remember in quiet moments decades from now.”

“This was a day more about Klopp than Liverpool’s result or performance – but it was fitting that the manager who oversaw so many memorable victories at Anfield should cap off his nine-year reign with victory.

“Klopp’s remarkable record has made him a Liverpool legend, as you could see by the tears, smiles and raw emotion that played out throughout the game.
“The good news for Slott is that Klopp has left him in the squad in good shape to push for further success with a mix of world-class stars and emerging youngsters for the manager, who comes from Feyenoord, to take charge next season.
“This was Klopp’s day, though, and the Kop left him in no doubt how much he is loved and missed.”

The Liverpool Echo‘s Ian Doyle compared Klopp to Bill Shankly, even welcoming his imperfections:
“Jurgen Klopp has probably come the closest since Shankly in terms of galvanizing the fan base and, yes, living up to his mission statement of converting them from doubters to believers.
“Klopp, however, is not immortal. And that’s entirely part of its appeal. He is, as he said on the first day of facing the media in October 2015, normal.
“He joined as Jurgen Klopp. He worked like Jurgen Klopp. And he leaves like Jurgen Klopp, the same person.
“Indeed, his time at Liverpool has been shaped as much by failures as by successes, narrowly missing out on the Champions League in 2018 and the Premier League the following year, which ended up being the impetus for lifting those trophies 12 months later.
“Fallible, imperfect and capable of the occasional mistake, Klopp is a mere mortal like the rest of us. But he never claimed to be anything else – and the ability he instilled in his teams to bounce back from setbacks and fight against the odds reflected the people of Merseyside as a whole.”
