New Liverpool manager Arne Slott has spoken of how “privileged” he is to replace Jurgen Klopp at Anfield, while it was a good day for Ben Doak.

Slot to replace Klopp at Liverpool

Slott will arrive at Liverpool on June 1 after signing a three-year contract and spoke of his pride at succeeding Klopp this summer.

Giving his thoughts in his final interview as Feyenoord manager, the 45-year-old discussed his big upcoming role.

“I’m already privileged, but then I’d be really, really privileged, and what’s fun or funny is that I’m succeeding a coach who has reached a much higher status at the club where he’s worked for the last nine years,” Slott said.

“So hopefully I’ll be allowed to leave like he’s leaving now or like I left here, but there’s got to be an incredible amount of (things) good for me to be able to do that.”

Slott also admitted he is looking forward to working with a “great group of players” at Liverpool ahead of what promises to be a fascinating spell.
