Welcome to our UFL Week 9 – Players of the Week – “Fan’s Choice” results. Voting began immediately at the completion of the final game on Sunday. We gathered over 1100 votes before the closing of polls at 5:00PM Eastern on Tuesday May 28, 2024. We thank all who voted!

Fans were asked to nominate any player they deemed worthy of the honor, in three categories: Offensive, Defensive, and Special Teams. Winners below are based on the number of votes received for each player.

 

UFL Offensive Player of the Week:
#17 Bryce Perkins, Quarterback, Michigan Panthers

Michigan Panthers quarterback Bryce Perkins carried the Panthers to a 26-22 comeback win. Perkins finished 12 of 15 passing for 121 yards and one touchdown, while also rushing for 76 yards and two majors.

  • Bryce Perkins was amazing and should be Michigan’s starter from here on. (STL)

Honorable Mention

Luis Perez, Quarterback, Arlington Renegades

  • In Arlington’s 36-22 victory over the Battlehawks, Perez completed 24 of 36 passes for 259 yards and three touchdowns. (F. Worth)
  • Perez continues to rack up the stats to be top quarterback in the UFL. (Anonymous)

 

UFL Defensive Player of the Week:
#57 Breeland Speaks, Defensive End, Michigan Panthers

One of the league’s top pass rushers has been defensive end Breeland Speaks of the Michigan Panthers. Week nine saw Speaks finish with six tackles, four tackles for loss, three sacks, and one pass breakup.

The fans said:

  • Speaks had a stellar game with 3 sacks, 6 total tackles, 4 TFL’s, and a pass breakup. (Keelie)

Honorable Mention

DeMarquis Gates, Linebacker, Birmingham Stallions

  • Nine total tackles, one sack and one forced fumble. (Anonymous)
  • DeMarquis Gates had a great game and was a bright spot in the Stallions loss to the San Antonio Brahmas.

 

UFL Special Teams Player of the Week:
#4 Brad Wing, Punter, San Antonio Brahmas

In the 18-9 upset victory over the unbeaten Birmingham Stallions, San Antonio Brahmas punter Brad Wing once again demonstrated his powerful leg with four punts for 214 yards, or an average of 53.5 yards per kick. His season-long 64-yard bomb late in the fourth quarter set the Stallions back and provided San Antonio’s defense with extra room to end Birmingham’s 15-game winning run.

Honorable Mention

Chris Rowland, Returner, D.C. Defenders

  • Rowland was busy with 3 kickoff returns for 97 yards and a 32 yd average, plus 2 punt returns for 53 yards and a 27 yd average. (JP)
  • Chris Rowland kept giving the Defenders the field position they needed to roll over the Showboats. (Anonymous)
