Former Manchester United team-mates Cristiano Ronaldo and David de Gea could soon be reunited with Al Nassr in Saudi Arabia.

The Portuguese legend scored 44 goals for the Saudi team last season, but failed to win the league or cup.

It has been reported that Ronaldo wants to recruit more former European stars to the league, and more specifically his team.

United have had a number of players linked with the Gulf state as it was announced yesterday that Ronaldo’s side are willing to pay a barely credible €90 million to secure the services of Casemiro.

In addition, it was said yesterday that Al Nassr are also seriously considering launching a massive raid on Old Trafford by offering €150m for United’s talismanic captain, Bruno Fernandes.

TBR Football now reports that Ronaldo is also interested in signing former team-mate David de Gea.

The website “understands that Cristiano Ronaldo hopes his former Manchester United team-mate David De Gea will be lured to Al-Nassr”.

“Al-Nassr are looking for a new number one, with former Arsenal man David Ospina likely to leave this summer.”

“TBR understands that Ronaldo has made a glowing reference to his bosses in Saudi Arabia and they are now eyeing De Gea – who they showed interest in last summer when he left Manchester United.”

The Spanish goalkeeper, who made 545 appearances for the Red Devils, spent a year out of football after becoming a free agent last season when he failed to agree a new contract with United.

There has been strong interest in Saudi Arabia and England, but no deal has been struck in the last 12 months.

It has also recently been thought that the goalkeeper could wish to return to his native Spain with clubs such as Barcelona, Real Betis and Sevilla all potentially interested in signing the player.

What is clear is that the 33-year-old must pick a team this summer if he is to continue his football career as one year out is unusual, but two is essentially unheard of, if he is to return to top-flight football.
