Liverpool goalkeeper Jakub Ojrzynski admits he is in the dark about plans for the new campaign after enduring a difficult loan spell in Holland.

Ojrzynski heads into his sixth season as a Liverpool player, with uncertainty over his future after failing to impress on loan at Den Bosch.

The 21-year-old played just 11 times for the Dutch second division side, and only once between the start of December and the end of the season.

At the end of the campaign, he lost his place in the team entirely, while he left the summer nursing a worrying knee injury.

Although the summer has seen changes in Liverpool’s goalkeeping department, with managers John Achterberg and Jack Robinson leaving and Caoimhin Kelleher and Adrian likely to follow, Ojrzynski is not expected to feature in the first team.

“We’ll see how everything turns out”

But with the transfer window opening on Friday, the youngster is currently in his native Poland and his whereabouts are uncertain.

“I am in the final stages of rehabilitation. Fortunately, I’m getting closer to being fully fit,” he said Echo of the Day.

“I’m waiting for the next season. I still don’t know where I will play next season.

I’m still a Liverpool player, we’ll see how it all turns out.”

Ojrzynski moved to Liverpool from Legia Warsaw in 2019, in a £200,000 deal, with most of his appearances since joining the U18s.

He was in the first team on one occasion, for a 2-0 win over Sheffield United in 2021 when both Alisson and Kelleher missed out.

But after finding himself behind Vitezslav Jaroš, Harvey Davies and Marcel Pitaluga in the pecking order, it was decided to gain experience on loan.

First, it came with Welsh side Caernarfon Town, before a spell with Radomiak Radom in Poland was cut short mid-season due to activity, and then, in the season just gone, his move to Den Bosch.

Liverpool are likely to seek another loan move for the player, who remains under contract until 2025, although Achterberg’s departure complicates matters.

But his uncertainty shows that, with significant changes at the club this summer, plans for many players are yet to be decided.
