Manchester United midfielder Christian Eriksen has reportedly informed some of his closest allies and confidants that he wants to leave Old Trafford this summer.

Eriksen is believed to be one of the players Sir Jim Ratcliffe and INEOS are open to parting with as they look to reshape Erik ten Hag’s squad ahead of the new season.

At 32, Eriksen is now at the wrong end of his career. The 2023/24 term saw his playing time at United drastically reduced due to the emergence of Kobbi Mainoo.

With Mason Mount still patiently waiting in the wings and United expected to sign a midfielder this term, Eriksen is likely to find himself further down the pecking order.

A previous report covering The Peoples Person reported that United were willing to sell him for a nominal fee.

A return to Ajax was considered. He is also being linked with Galatasaray. Eriksen recently dismissed the possibility of a move to the Saudi Pro League.

According to Football Insider, “Christian Eriksen has told friends he is ready to leave Man United this summer.’

“The veteran midfielder is believed to be the subject of initial interest in Turkey and Saudi Arabia – and United are unlikely to demand a huge fee to facilitate a move away.”

“Sources say Eriksen is looking to leave Old Trafford this summer and is hoping for a strong performance from Denmark in Germany.”

The report states that Eriksen is fully aware that he is unlikely to break into Ten Hag’s starting line-up ahead of Bruno Fernandes or youngster Mainoo.

If Eriksen’s desire is to play well at Euro 2024 and secure himself a lucrative transfer in the process, then he definitely got off to a good start as Denmark kicked off their campaign on Sunday with a 1-1 draw against Slovenia at the Stuttgart Arena.

Eriksen scored Denmark’s first goal in sensational style just 17 minutes into the game. During the 90 minutes that he was on the field, United were sensational and were unlucky that his performance was not enough to record victory.
