Manchester United star Leny Yoro has reportedly agreed a deal with La Liga giants Real Madrid to become his next club.

Yoro has been mentioned as United’s main defensive target alongside Jarrad Branthwaite (Everton), Marc Guehi (Crystal Palace), Edmond Tapsob (Bayer Leverkusen), Ronaldo Araujo (Barcelona) and Max Kilman (Wolves), to name but a few.

The Athletic’s David Ornstein said United are actively working on a deal to sign Yoro.

The Red Devils’ pursuit of the Frenchman received a significant boost after Lille president Olivier Letang confirmed that the defender and his team-mate, Jonathan David, are free to leave this summer as they have “exit vouchers”.

Erik ten Hag’s team is not the only club chasing the wanted Yor. He is also interesting for other teams such as Real Madrid, Liverpool, Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain.

All in all, the overwhelming feeling was always that Madrid were firm favorites to secure Yoro’s signature. It is understood that the 18-year-old’s desire is also to become the latest addition to the ranks at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Sports Zone (via Get French Football News) is now reporting that the teenage defensive prospect and Madrid have reached an agreement over his move to the Spanish capital.

The France U21 international wants to play for Los Blancos under Carlo Ancelotti.

Ideally, Madrid would like to sign Yor in the current window, but that depends on finding a middle ground in relation to his transfer with Lille.

Madrid are determined not to overpay for a player who only has twelve months left on his contract with Les Dogues.

If that doesn’t happen, Yoro looks set to stay at Lille for another year and join Madrid next year as a free agent.

United now have their work cut out for them if they still harbor hopes of Yoro wearing the famous red shirt next season. The 20-time English champions must launch a spirited charm offensive to try and lure Yoro to Old Trafford.

It may not be a foregone conclusion that he will join United, especially given that he has recently been linked with a move for the Premier League side.

United are also believed to have made contact with Lille to express an interest in their prized defender.
