Real Madrid are accelerating their move for Lille’s young centre-back Leny Yoro.

They aim to have the 18-year-old ready for pre-season after the sale of Rafa Marín to Napoli cleared the financial path.

Madrid’s €35 million offer hopes to secure Yoro’s services promptly, ensuring he can integrate into Carlo Ancelotti’s squad from the first day of the new project.

According to AS, Spanish giants are pushing hard to finalize the deal, with Lille in a weakened negotiating position due to the player’s desire to move to the Spanish giants.

The plan is for Yoro to start pre-season with Real Madrid next Monday, aligning his acclimatisation process with the rest of the squad, especially since other defenders like David Alaba will be handled carefully during this period.

Madrid’s urgency is partly due to their recent squad adjustments, including the transfer of youth player Rafa Marín to Napoli for €12 million, with a buy-back option set at €25 million for 2026.

This sale has freed up resources to increase pressure on Lille, making a strong case for Yoro’s acquisition by offering around €35 million, including various performance-related bonuses.

David Ornstein also claims that Manchester United are still pursuing a deal for Yoro.

United are actively seeking a left-sided defender to cover for Lisandro Martinez and Luke Shaw, who both faced injury issues last season.

Additionally, Tyrell Malacia is still on the road to recovery.

Among the candidates, Feyenoord’s versatile David Hancko, 26, who can play as both a centre-back and full-back, has been considered.

However, his potential cost may be prohibitive for a player expected to primarily serve as a squad member.
