SYLVANIA, Ohio — Shanette Wanasen won the Dana Kids Open on Sunday for her second LPGA Tour title, scoring one putt on the final two holes to edge out Hiran Ryu by a shot.
Three strokes ahead of fellow player Rio, Wanasen finished the round with a 67-under-par to finish the tournament with a 20-under-par 264 at Highland Meadows.
“On the last day, I couldn’t calm down because my heart was like boom, boom, boom, boom,” Wanasen said. “Every hole in my heart.”
The 20-year-old Thai player won the Portland Classic last year.
“Right now, I feel like I’m going to go for the third cup, yeah, I think it’s coming,” Wanasen said.

Rio scored 65 and made birdies on the final two holes.
“It made me feel a little nervous,” Wanasen said.
Rio had six birdies and a foul on the back nine.
“I wanted to qualify for the playoffs, but my shots were very good and I almost scored,” the South Korean said.
Defending champion Lynn Grant of Sweden and her Taiwanese teammate Ssu Chia-ching were tied for third place at 14 under par, each scoring 68.
“I’m going to be home for a couple of weeks now, just to relax a little bit before the Olympics,” Grant said.
Chinese players Xiu “Janet” Lin (70) and Mary Liu (69) both shot 12 under par. Lin was the highest-ranked player in the field at No. 15 in the world.
Stacy Lewis, 39, a native of nearby Toledo, shot a 70 to tie for seventh at 10-under par. She won the last of her 13 LPGA Tour titles in 2020.
“I’m exhausted, but it’s been a great week,” Lewis said. “It’s been some of the best golf I’ve played all year. I played well today. But I couldn’t putt a hole.”
