Apart from centre-back additions, Manchester United are also eyeing a versatile full-back considering their woes in that position last season.
Luke Shaw missed a staggering 36 games while Tyrell Malacia was sidelined for the whole campaign. Both are yet to rejoin pre-season training and a similar issue could crop up just like last season, something INEOS are keen to avoid.
Even Aaron Wan-Bissaka ended up missing 19 games, forcing Erik ten Hag to play defensive midfielder Sofyan Amrabat and centre-back Victor Lindelof on the left out of desperation.
The Dutch boss is open to an upgrade on the former Crystal Palace star who struggled when going forward, something he demands from all his full-backs. Diogo Dalot emerged as the de-facto starter on the right, impressing going forward.
United eyeing Mazraoui
Noussair Mazraoui of Bayern Munich is the intended target with the Moroccan agreeing personal terms with the Red Devils after rejecting West Ham’s approach.
He is keen to reunite with his former Ajax coach but for that deal to materialise, the Old Trafford side need to offload Wan-Bissaka first.
There has been interest from within the English top-flight as well as from Turkey and Italy but as things stand, the Hammers are reportedly in the hot seat.

A recent report even claimed that the London club are close to sealing the former Eagles star’s signature. But as per journalist Ben Jacobs, a deal is far from close.
A gap in valuation still exists between both clubs. The 20-time English league champions are asking for a guaranteed £15 million and add-ons but West Ham do not want to pay as much.
West Ham and United remain apart in AWB valuation

The funds generated from the Englishman’s sale will be used towards landing the Morocco international who is adept at playing on both flanks.
Wan-Bissaka has started all three of United’s pre-season games so far and on his day, he remains the best defender in direct duels.
But Ten Hag wants more from his full-backs and after an impressive renaissance in the manager’s first season in charge, the 26-year-old once again struggled last term and with only one year left in his current contract, this might be the best chance at recouping a fee from his sale.
