Premier League rivals Fulham have seemingly thrown in the towel in their bid to land Manchester United midfielder Scott McTominay this summer.

McTominay is believed to be one of the players United are open to selling in the event that they receive suitable proposals for him.

Fulham have already had two offers rejected for the Scotland international, with the latest one thought to be worth around £20million.

It’s believed that United are holding out for a sum between £25m-£30m but Marco Silva’s side remain some distance off that range.

A recent report covered by The Peoples Person relayed that the Cottagers were prepared to walk away if United failed to demonstrate a willingness to reach a compromise over their asking fee for the Carrington academy graduate.

According to a fresh update provided by Sky Sports journalist Dharmesh Sheth, it appears that Fulham have made good on their threat and have now abandoned their pursuit of McTominay.

Sheth wrote on X (formerly Twitter), “As it stands, Fulham not expected to return with improved offer for Manchester United’s Scott McTominay.”

“2 bids rejected – latest worth £20m.”

“Still gap in valuation. Fulham’s focus on other targets.”

“Fluminense’s Andre is a player they’ve long standing interest in.”

That Fulham have switched their attention away from McTominay may come as good news to Erik ten Hag, who has repeatedly declared his admiration for the 27-year-old.

Ten Hag previously stated that his wish is to keep McTominay amidst heavy interest in the player both from England and abroad.

In the 2023/24 season, McTominay plundered a career-high 10 goals across all competitions, helping the club win 12 points in the process.
