Manchester United have seemingly stepped up efforts to sign Fenerbahçe full-back Ferdi Kadıoğlu.
Kadıoğlu endured a very promising 2023/24 season in Turkey, making 51 appearances in all competitions for Fenerbahçe.
Many expected the versatile full-back, who primarily plays on the left flank, to also enjoy a successful campaign under newly appointed manager, Jose Mourinho.
However, the 24-year-old’s performances for Turkey in this summer’s Euros caught the attention of top European clubs, and this could accelerate his exit from the Istanbul-based outfit.
Kadıoğlu, who made his breakthrough into senior football as number 10 at NEC Nijmegen, has impressed many with his ball control in tight spaces and ability to progress the play from deep as an inverted full-back.
Brighton and Hove Albion appeared to be his most serious suitors, but now a report from journalist Yağız Sabuncuoğlu suggests United are also prepared to seriously knock on Fenerbahçe’s doors.
He claims that the Premier League giants have met with the left-back’s representatives to understand his contract demands in the event they find an agreement with his club for a summer transfer.

As far as Fenerbahçe’s demands are concerned, they are reportedly hoping to raise as much as €35m from their star player’s sale.
The Turkish giants’ preference is to renew his contract, which runs until June 2026, but the youngster is keen to move to the Premier League.
Erik ten Hag has had to rely on academy left-back Harry Amass during this summer’s pre-season due to Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia’s absence, owing to fitness issues. Both senior left-backs remain unavailable for United’s Community Shield clash against Manchester City.
Recently, The Peoples Person relayed a report claiming the concerning situation at left-back has led to United intensifying their search for reinforcements. Question marks also remain over right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka’s future at Old Trafford.
Accordingly, Kadıoğlu could prove to be a very shrewd signing due to his impeccable technical quality and ability to play on both flanks.
