Lando Norris claimed a superb pole position for the Italian Grand Prix, narrowly getting the better of team mate Oscar Piastri and George Russell to lock out the front row for McLaren.

With four teams seemingly in the battle for pole, Norris clocked an impressive 1m 19.327s to edge out his competitors as just 0.186s covered the top six drivers, with crowd favourites Ferrari settling for P4 and P5.

The Briton has secured back-to-back pole positions for the first time in his career and given himself the opportunity to close down the gap to championship rival Max Verstappen, who qualified a whopping 0.695s back in seventh spot.
