Real Madrid are reportedly planning to explore a deal for Everton star and Manchester United target Jarrad Branthwaite next summer.
During the summer transfer window, Branthwaite was a key target for United but needless to say, a move never materialised.
Despite agreeing personal terms with the player, the Red Devils failed to submit a satisfactory proposal to Everton.
United lodged multiple offers for the England international, with the last one thought to be around £55million. However, the Toffees turned them all down as they held out for a sum in excess of £75million – a figure Erik ten Hag’s side deemed too excessive.
The result was that United pulled out of negotiations and turned their attention to alternative targets. The 20-time English champions ended up signing Leny Yoro from Lille and Matthijs de Ligt from Bayern Munich as defensive reinforcements.
However, a recent report covered by The Peoples Person relayed that United remain interested in Branthwaite and could attempt to secure his services next summer.
GIVEMESPORT have now given an update on the 22-year-old’s situation and indicated that he is also firmly on Real Madrid’s radar.
“Everton star Jarrad Branthwaite has a strong chance of sealing his departure in 2025 as La Liga heavyweights Real Madrid are circling in the aftermath of seeing Manchester United fail to strike a deal for the Goodison Park fan favourite during the summer, GIVEMESPORT sources have revealed.”
“There is a serious possibility of Branthwaite leaving Everton next summer as Real Madrid are keeping tabs on his situation, according to GMS sources, but last season’s Champions League winners will have to meet his current employers’ demands if they want to strike a deal as his £75million price tag will not drop.”
The news outlet adds, “GMS sources have been told that Manchester United’s frustrations in their pursuit of Branthwaite could open the door for Real Madrid to pounce within the next 12 months as the Spanish giants have shown interest and may put plans in place to open negotiations with Everton in the coming months.”
Branthwaite currently has three years remaining on his contract at Goodison Park, meaning Everton are in a strong negotiating position.
It’s understood that the Merseysiders are open to handing their prized defensive asset a new deal to reward him but even if an agreement is not found, this will not impact his valuation.
