In the Main Event 2012 Olympic Gold Medalist, WBA, WBO, and IBF world heavy champ ‘AJ’ Anthony Joshua, 28-4 (25), was knocked out by IBF Interim champ Daniel ‘Dynamite’ Dubois, 22-2 (21) at 0:59 of the fifth round of a scheduled 12 rounds.

In the first round Dubois came out landing the first punch a right on the chin. In the final seconds, Dubois landed a powerful right on the chin, dropping Joshua for an 8-count from Referee Marcus McDonnell. Seconds later, the bell ended the round.

In the second round, Dubois had Joshua holding throughout without warning. In the third round, a left hook from Dubois hurt and followed with a flurry, dropping Joshua for an 8-count when his corner put the stool in the ring for him to get up. Referee McDonnell has favored Joshua throughout.

In the third round, Joshua was down again for an 8-count. He kept holding without warning. In the fourth round, Dubois continued on the attack, having Joshua hold again and again.

In the fifth round Joshua landed a right on the chin looking he had recovered when Dubois dropped Joshua for a third time with a right on the chin as Referee McDonnell had no choice but to count him out.

Co-Main Event EBU Euro Middle champ southpaw Tyler Denny, 19-3-3 (1), #159 ¾, of Rowley Regis, West Midlands, UK, was stopped by WBC Silver and Commonwealth champ Hamzah Sheeraz, 21-0 (17), #159 ½, of Ilford, Essex, UK, at 2:05 of the second round of a scheduled 12 rounds.

In the first round, after ten seconds, a left from Sheeraz on the head dropped Denny for an 8-count from Referee Mark Bates. In the second round, Sheeraz dropped Denny with a left hook.  Referee Bates then waved it off upon Denny rising.

2016 Olympic Bronze Medalist, British and Commonwealth Light Heavy champ Joshua Buatsi, 19-0 (13) won a split decision over Willie ‘The Hutch Train’ Hutchinson 18-2 (13) over 12 rounds, for WBO Interim title.

In the first two rounds, Hutchinson outworked Buatsi. In the third and fourth rounds, Buatsi came back well to take the rounds. In the fifth round, Hutchinson was cut on the right eyebrow but had a good round.

In the sixth round final seconds, Buatsi landed a flurry of punches, with the last a body shot dropping Hutchinson for an 8-count from Referee Steve Gray. In the seventh round, while scoring punches, Referee Gray took a point from Hutchinson for using his head. Hutchinson’s cut on both eyebrows had a good round otherwise.

In the ninth round, while having a good round, Hutchinson took a left to the mid-section from Buatsi and dropped to the canvas for an 8-count from Referee Gray. In the tenth round, Referee Gray continued to let Buatsi pull down Hutchinson’s head without warning, and both boxers had their moments.

In the eleventh round, Hutchinson edged out Buatsi for the most part. In the twelfth and final round, Hutchinson took another round, but was it enough having been dropped twice earlier?

Scores 113-112 Hutchinson, 117-108 Buatsi and 115-110 Buatsi.

IBO and IBF World Super Feather champ southpaw Anthony ‘The Apache’ Cacace, 23-1 (8) retained the title by defeating former IBF World Feather champ Josh ‘The Leeds Warrior’ Warrington, 31-4-1 (8) over 12 rounds for IBO title.

In the first round, Cacace seemed much stronger than Warrington, moving up from featherweight. In the second round, Cacace turned southpaw and got hit with a right. This was a big round for Warrington, who had a solid body attack. In the third round, Cacace rocked Warrington with a right on the chin, putting him on the defense.

In the fourth round, Cacace continued to be the stronger of the two. In the fifth and sixth rounds, Cacace kept up the pressure, taking both rounds using a good right uppercut. In the seventh round, Warrington came back well, taking the round out and landing Cacace.

From the ninth through the eleventh rounds, Cacace had his way for the most part. In the twelfth and final round, Cacace did a lot of holding as Warrington knew he needed a stoppage, and he won the round. Stepping up in weight cost him.

Referee Howard Foster. Scores 118-110, 117-111 twice.

WBO Int’l Super Welter champ, former British champ, and Olympian Josh ‘Pretty Boy’ Kelly, 16-1-1 (8), won a majority decision over late substitute Ishmael ‘The Black Panther’ Davis, 13-1 (6) over ten rounds, for the IBF Intercontinental Super Welter title.

In the first two rounds, it was all Kelly as Davis came out southpaw before returning to orthodox. Kelly moved a lot around the ring in the second round. In the third round, Kelly gave Davis a boxing lesson.

In the fourth round, Kelly, hands to his side with quicker hands, had a close round with late sub Davis who finally was getting in some punches.

In the fifth through seventh rounds, Kelly boxed using his jab against the oncoming Davis, taking the rounds. Davis couldn’t cut the ring off getting outscored in the ninth and tenth rounds.

Davis rocked Kelly with a right on the chin a minute into the round in the twelfth and last round. Midway, Davis cut Kelly on the bridge of the nose along with an earlier one on his left eyelid, causing blood all over Kelly’s face—big round for Davis.

Referee Kieran McCann. Scores 114-114, 115-113 and 115-114.

WBC Silver Light champ southpaw Mark ‘Thunder’ Chamberlain, 16-1 (12), was upset by Josh ‘Paddy’ Padley, 15-0 (4) over ten rounds, with Padley scoring a knockdown.

In the first two rounds, the taller southpaw Chamberlain allowed Padley to get inside and score points. Chamberlain scored with a lead left on the chin in the second round. He suffered a cut between his eyes. In the fourth round, Chamberlain suffered another cut on the outside of his right eyebrow.

In the fifth round, with a minute remaining, Padley landed a good left to the head of Chamberlain. In the sixth round, too much clinching continued, and Referee Victor Loughlin is allowing Chamberlain to get away with fouls.

Padley throws a punch or two in the seventh round and immediately goes into a clinch. In the eighth round, a left hook from Padley on the chin and down went Chamberlain for an 8-count from Referee Loughlin.

In the ninth round, Referee Loughlin finally took a point from Chamberlain for using his forearm continuously. Padley has a bruise under his left eye. In the tenth and final round, Padley did enough to take the round, re-opening the cut on Chamberlain’s right eyebrow.

Scores were 95-93 and 96-92 twice.
