William Scull vs. Vladimir Shishkin – Boxing Betting Prediction

WILLIAM SCULL and Vladimir Shishkin contest the vacant IBF super-middleweight title on Saturday night in an intriguing Berlin clash. What makes this bout so interesting is the element of the unknown.

Scull (6/5) was gently simmering on the side, appearing on PBC undercards, waiting patiently for his crack at Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez, which, in truth, was never likely to transpire. When Canelo eventually dropped/was stripped/left the belt behind (whichever you prefer) Scull, 22-0 (9), needed a dance partner. Step forward Russia’s Shishkin (4/6), a powerful fighter based in Florida.

Originally from Cuba, 32-year-old Scull is based in Germany so has the advantage. As a bit more of a mover, Scull will need every advantage he can get. His best win so far came against another Russian, Evgeny Shvedenko, back in a 2022 eliminator for this belt. Shvedenko was also unbeaten and Scull won well.

Shishkin, 16-0 (10), is a hunter and half the battle will be hunting down a swift mover. The 33-year-old has fought better opposition, although many of them were on the decline when he got hold. Shishkin should be able to put in the work early and reap those rewards late to put it on Scull and grind out a win.
