Xavi has reportedly demanded a second signing before agreeing to become the next Manchester United manager.

As pressure mounts on Erik ten Hag following United’s extremely poor start to the 2024/25 season, Xavi has once again emerged as a potential candidate to succeed the Dutchman.

In the summer – when United were contemplating sacking Ten Hag – Xavi was mentioned as a managerial target for Sir Jim Ratcliffe and INEOS but needless to say, a switch to Old Trafford never got over the line.

Amidst renewed speculation over Ten Hag’s position, it was recently revealed by The Daily Mail that the Red Devils reached out to the former Barcelona boss to gauge his willingness to take the job if it were to become available.

It was stated that a four-man party led by chief executive Omar Berrada jetted to Spain to sound out Xavi.

Earlier today, it emerged that the Barcelona icon wants United to sign Raphinha as a condition to become the next United gaffer.

The pair worked together at Camp Nou and therefore know each other very well.

A fresh report now claims that Xavi is asking for a second Barcelona player to join him at the Theatre of Dreams – Fermin Lopez.

It’s understood that the 44-year-old coach “would like to take” Lopez to United after the “young academy graduate won the coach’s trust thanks to his dedication, quality and ability to make a difference in the midfield.”

Lopez is a player that Xavi “fully trusts” although it’s still uncertain whether the Blaugrana “are willing to let one of their most promising young talents go.”

Last month, a report covered by The Peoples Person relayed that United tried to sign Lopez in the summer transfer window but failed in their bid.

So far this season, the 21-year-old has made four La Liga appearances for Barca, all of which have come from the bench.
