ADAM AZIM has denied he pulled out of a fight against Harlem Eubank because of an injury.
The two faced off at the O2 Arena in March during the Fabio Wardley and Frazer Clarke card despite there being no official announcement for the fight.
Fast forward six months and both fighters are now going in different directions with Azim set to face Ohara Davies on October 19 while Eubank faces Frenchman Nurali Erdogan six days later.
“His side is totally wrong because he didn’t want the fight,” Azim told Boxing News this week.
“I wanted the fight. The fight was done, it was all done and he’s the one [who] decided to pull out the fight. The fight was initially going to be October 5 in Brighton and it was going be at catchweight so he had no excuse about the weight, he had no excuse about where it was going to be but he probably wanted to take a different route.
“I got respect for him he’s got respect for me. The fight’s going to happen one day and I wish him the best of luck. And whenever that fight is going to happen it’s going to happen.”
