Alejandro Garnacho reportedly cut short his time away on holiday to make an early return to Manchester United after winning the Copa America with Argentina.
Last season, Garnacho made huge strides in his Old Trafford career and was one of the few positives for the club during a tumultuous and extremely disappointing 2023/24 term.
The young winger made an astonishing 50 appearances across all competitions. He played 400 more minutes than any other teenager in the Premier League, highlighting his importance to Erik ten Hag and his coaching staff.
Garnacho registered an impressive 10 goals and five assists. He also scored United’s opening goal in the FA Cup final as they sunk Pep Guardiola’s men at Wembley.
For his exploits, Garnacho was named in Lionel Scaloni’s squad for Copa America. He primarily had to be content with a place on the bench and featured on just one occasion as the Albiceleste won the competition.
According to The Daily Mail, despite the mental and physical toll that last season undoubtedly took on Garnacho, he still somehow managed to return to United earlier than scheduled.

Garnacho came off the bench in the Community Shield and gave United the lead with a sensational finish. Unfortunately, City equalised before the Red Devils lost the match on penalties.
There were however plenty of positives to take, with Garnacho’s sharpness one of them.
The Mail adds that the Carrington academy graduate is expected to be restored to United’s starting XI for their Premier League opener vs. Fulham on Friday.
If Garnacho’s performance on Saturday was any indication of his intentions heading into the new campaign, United fans are in for a thrilling ride.
