American skateboarder Jagger Eaton is aiming to make history at the Paris 2024 Olympics by becoming the first athlete to win medals in both street and park skateboarding. Born on February 21, 2001, in Scottsdale, Arizona, Eaton comes from a family of elite athletes. His parents, Geoff Eaton and Shelly Schaerer, were both successful gymnasts, and his father later founded the Kids That Rip (KTR) skateboarding park in Mesa, Arizona, where Eaton began honing his skills at the age of four.
Eaton made his mark on the skateboarding world at a young age, becoming the youngest competitor at the X-Games at just 11 years old. He continued to impress, winning the gold medal at the X-Games and the Phoenix Am in his home state in 2017. His success continued into 2018, with an X-Games silver medal and a win at Estonia’s Simple Session among his accolades.
Eaton’s talent and determination led him to the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, where he won a bronze medal in men’s street skateboarding, despite competing with a broken ankle. This achievement made him the first American to win an Olympic medal in skateboarding. Now, Eaton is preparing for the Paris 2024 Olympics, where he hopes to compete and win medals in both street and park skateboarding. As of June 2024, he is currently ranked number two in the world in both disciplines.
