Austin FC wasted no time finding another designated player.

The club announced on Thursday that left winger Osman Bukari will join the Verde & Black in a transfer from Red Star Belgrade to Serbia.

Bukari, who also plays for the Ghana national team and scored during the 2022 World Cup, registered 25 goals and 20 assists over the past two seasons for Red Star Belgrade.

He fills the designated player spot left open when Austin FC waived and eventually bought Emiliano Rigonibut he will only be able to train with the club until the MLS transfer window opens on July 18. The first game he can play in is July 20 at Q2 Stadium against Charlotte.

Bukari, 25, played in the top leagues in Slovakia, Belgium and France before joining Red Star Belgrade, where he also played in the UEFA Champions League.
