Manchester United co-owner Avram Glazer was present to watch the players training ahead of their pre-season clash at SoFi Stadium against Arsenal this weekend.

United’s Virgin Atlantic flight landed on Wednesday, 5.20pm local time at a private terminal at LAX.

The team received a police escort through the rush hour traffic and arrived at the SLS Beverly Hills Hotel at 6.30pm.

It was an unusually low-key arrival for United, who are often welcomed by thousands of supporters all aiming to get a glimpse of the players.

On Thursday afternoon, United got to work as they took part in a training session in the Californian sunshine.

The club confirmed that the UCLA venue will be the team’s primary base throughout the tour, despite the fact that there are matches scheduled to take place in San Diego and Columbia for meetings against Real Betis and Liverpool respectively.

United relayed that sporting director Dan Ashworth was accompanied by technical director Jason Wilcox to watch the team train.

The Telegraph states that Avram Glazer was also present.

“United’s sporting director Dan Ashworth, technical director Jason Wilcox, Ineos director of sport Sir Dave Brailsford and the club’s co-owner Avram Glazer were all at UCLA to watch Ten Hag put his players through their paces during a long training session on Thursday, their first of the tour after landing in LA the previous evening.”

Meanwhile, the newspaper also points out, “Celebrity United fan Steven Bartlett, the British entrepreneur behind the hugely successful Diary of a CEO podcast and one of the investors on the BBC TV Series Dragons’ Den, was among a number of influencers and media personalities flown over to the US for a celebrity match at UCLA, where United are training in Los Angeles, on Thursday.”

United of course hosted a game for social media influencers at UCLA yesterday.
