The Artur Beterbiev vs. Dmitry Bivol official Promo was released today for their undisputed light heavyweight championship fight on October 12th in Riyadh. The 4-minute promo trailer is out of this world good for the Beterbiev-Bivol clash next month in 17 days.

IBF, WBC, and WBO 175-lb champion Beterbiev (20-0, 20 KOs) and WBA champ Bivol (23-0, 12 KOs) are shown in the move-like promo on a battlefield with swords, men fighting and dying.

The fighters climb a snow-covered mountain and end up fighting with swords while being cheered by their troops. The visual scenery is outstanding.

One odd thing that perhaps should have been edited out of the Beterbiev-Bivol promo was Bivol killing a bear with a sword. That didn’t seem to fit well because it looked cruel, destroying a beautiful animal. The focus of the promo should have been solely on Beterbiev vs. Bivol fight.

The inclusion of the bear being killed was a Russian-angle thing because both fighters are from that country. The bear is a symbol of Russia and has been for many years.

Promoter Eddie Hearn says it’s the “biggest fight in boxing,” which is a good description of what this fight means. These are the two best fighters in their weight class, and both are still in their prime, on top of their game.

Bivol is the pure boxer who will be looking to dominate Beterbiev with his ability to box and move. For his part, Beterbiev will be trying to destroy Bivol to keep his perfect knockout streak going.

The Beterbiev vs. Bivol event can be seen live on DAZN PPV on October 12th. The undercard is filled with notable fighters from the UK.

For Beterbiev to win, he’s going to have to pressure Bivol throughout because there’s no way that he’s going to stand and slug with the KO artist in the center of the ring. Bivol doesn’t have the power or the punch resistance to brawl with Beterbiev without getting knocked out.

Beterbiev is likely to focus on throwing punches to the body of Bivol to take away his movement, and force him to trade. That’s the tactic that Beterbiev successfully used to defeat former WBC light heavyweight champion Oleksandr Gvozdyk in their clash in October 2019.
