Former WBC Silver Super Lightweight champion Jose ‘Chon’ Zepeda stopped Ivan ‘El Terrible’ Redkach in two rounds with three knockdowns on Friday night at the Pechanga Resort & Casino, Temecula, California.

In the main event, Zepeda (38-5, 29 KOs) stopped Ivan ‘El Terrible’ Redkach (24-8-1, 19 KOs) at 2:02 of the second round of a scheduled ten rounds for the WBC interim Silver super lightweight title.

In the first round, Zepeda was dominating and, in the final minute, landed a left to the liver, dropping Redkach for an 8-count from Referee Rudy Barragan, who came close to stopping. Redkach managed to get to the bell.

In the second round, with over a minute remaining, Zepeda dropped Redkach with a body shot for an 8-count from Referee Barragan. Seconds later, with a body shot, Zepeda again dropped Redkach as Referee Barragan waved it off.

Co-main event featherweight Nathan ‘El Morenito’ Rodriguez (16-0, 10 KOs) defeated southpaw Bryan Mercado (11-6-1, 6 KOs) over eight rounds, scoring a knockdown in the final round.

In the second round, Rodriguez drew blood from the nose of Mercado with a right uppercut. In the third round, Rodriguez busted up the nose and mouth of Mercado, drawing blood.

In the fifth and sixth rounds, Rodriguez mostly had Mercado against the ropes. In the seventh round, Rodriguez kept up the pressure, working on Mercado’s nose, who fought back well. In the eighth and final round, Mercado’s right eye swelled.

In the final seconds, a left hook from Rodriguez on the chin knocked out the mouthpiece, dropping Mercado for an eight-count from Referee Edward Hernandez as the bell sounded.
Scores 79-72, 80-71 and 80-71.

Super lightweight southpaw Miquel Gaoma, 5-0, 4 KOs) knocked out Danny Evangelista, Jr. (21-19-2, 17 KOs) in four rounds.

In the first round, Gaoma dropped Evangelista with a body shot for an 8-count from Referee Ray Armendariz. Seconds later, Gaoma again dropped Evangelista with a body shot for the count.

Super bantamweight Santos ‘Fino’ Ortega (9-0, 3 KOs) defeated southpaw Jose ‘Tsunami’ Saant (15-6 -1, 5 KOs) over six rounds.

In the first three rounds, Ortega had his way. In the fifth round, Ortega tried to end it, but Saant hung in there. In the sixth and final round, Saant kept coming forward, with Ortega countering him and taking another round.

Referee Edward Hernandez. Scores all 60-54.

Super Lightweight Jaime ‘Cuban Blessed’ Cuesta (10-0, 3 KOs) defeated Jenel ‘The Demolition Man’ Lausa (11-5-1, 7 KOs) over six rounds.

In the first three rounds, it was all Cuesta. Cuesta had his way in the last three rounds except for the fourth round.

The Referee was Ray Armendariz. The scores were 59-54, 59-54 and 59-54.

Bantamweight Oscar Ochoa (1-0) defeated Rod Michelle Sarguilla (2-7, 1 KO) over four rounds.

In the first two rounds, Ochoa outworked Sarguilla. In the fourth and final round, Ochoa out-landed Sarguilla.

The referee was Rudy Barragan. The scores were 40-36. 40-36  and 39-37.
