Jadon Sancho’s uncertain future at Manchester United continues to make headlines during the final days of the transfer window, with Chelsea the latest club to be credited with interest in his services.

Erik ten Hag and Sancho seemingly decided to repair their relationship upon the player’s return from Borussia Dortmund. Still, that move has done little to stop suggestions concerning his potential departure from Old Trafford.

Sancho has been linked with a move to Paris Saint-Germain for some time.

Recently, The Peoples Person relayed a report claiming he is determined to move to the French capital and even has a “preliminary agreement” with the Ligue 1 outfit.

However, according to fussball.news, a move to PSG has “most likely fallen through”. Instead, the outlet has thrown Chelsea’s name into the mix.

It claims the silky winger and Chelsea have “come closer together” and the Blues are ready to offer the Red Devils a transfer fee as well as two academy players on top of that to sweeten the deal.

Chelsea, who continue to struggle with financial fair play concerns due to their extraordinary spending in recent transfer windows, are supposedly also exploring other options to get their hands on Sancho.

It is understood Chelsea are also open to loaning the 24-year-old star with an obligation to buy. This offer would see them pay his entire salary.

Considering Sancho is one of the best-paid players at Old Trafford, this arrangement could greatly improve United’s wage bill and hand Dan Ashworth and company more breathing space, as the Mancunian giants continue to look for more reinforcements.

The report suggests Ten Hag is unlikely to do much to stop Sancho from leaving, as their relationship is “still strained.”

Ten Hag’s decision to hand Alejandro Garnacho, who did not play in part in the pre-season tour, more minutes than Sancho against Manchester City in the Community Shield further underlined that the Englishman is yet to fully win his manager’s trust.

It will certainly be interesting to see Sancho’s role against Fulham in United’s Premier League opener on Friday.
