Christian Eriksen has admitted he loves playing for Manchester United, insisting that he’ll seriously consider signing a new deal if the club were to offer him one.

Eriksen is currently in the final year of his terms at United and unless he puts pen to paper on a new contract, he’s set to depart Old Trafford as a free agent come the end of the season.

The Denmark international struggled for playing time last season but seems to have regained his place under Erik ten Hag this term.

He has made nine appearances across all competitions so far this term, registering three goals and as many assists in that period.

Amidst an extremely underwhelming start to the campaign, Eriksen has been one of the club’s better players.

Ahead of United’s Europa League clash against Fenerbahce on Thursday, Eriksen accompanied Ten Hag to the presser and was asked about his future.

The 32-year-old said, “It’s not really up to me when my contract runs out, it’s up to the club.”

“When the summer comes if the offer is there I will definitely take it seriously.”

When questioned about his role in Ten Hag’s system, Eriksen responded, “You know our tactics? I like it. For me it doesn’t matter the system you’re playing. Every game you’ll see a 4-2-3-1, a 4-4-2, a 4-5-1, all of it.”

“I’m just enjoying [playing in it].”

“Some games you play and some you don’t. I’ve been in and out last two seasons but I definitely enjoy playing for Man United.”

“The manager makes the decisions who is playing and you do your best when you can.”

Eriksen indicated that he has seen improvement since United’s disappointing draw with FC Twente.

“Yes, I think I have [seen improvement]. The confidence is a big part. When you draw or lose, the confidence is down a bit. When I spoke it was a draw but it felt like we’d lost.”

The United No. 14 further stated that he expects a very hostile atmosphere at The Şükrü Saracoğlu Stadium. He explained that he loves such scenarios as they motivate the players.

Fenerbahce vs. United kicks off at 20.00 BST.
