Colorado picked up a commitment from Louisville transfer DT Tawfiq Thomas on Friday, adding to a D-line room that is going to be fascinating to keep an eye on this season.
The Buffs have three returning players in that room with Shane Cokes, Amari McNeill and Arden Walker, all of whom transferred to CU last year. They’ve brought in a whopping nine more transfers this offseason: Anquin Barnes (Alabama), Rayyan Buell (Ohio), Taurean Carter (Arkansas), BJ Green (Arizona State), Dayon Hayes (Pitt), Chidozie Nwankwo (Houston), Samuel Okunlola (Pitt), Quency Wiggins (LSU) and now Thomas. They’ll have one scholarship freshman in Brandon Davis-Swain, too.
All those experienced players coming in should create a lot more competitive depth and more room to rotate when Colorado gets into Big 12 play. I like a lot of those D-line additions and think that front will be much improved.
