Manchester United’s controversial winger Antony has been brutally trolled by Dominos Pizza on X.

The Brazilian arrived to Old Trafford little under two years ago for the mammoth fee of £86 million.

To say he has underachieved would be an understatement as he has lost his place in the starting line up and he has only been able to score 11 goals in 82 appearances for the Red Devils.

Moreover, he is still being criminally investigated in his native Brazil, deepening his unpopularity with the fanbase.

Despite this, the 24 year old gave a heartfelt interview, released yesterday, where he promised fans that this season would be “totally different” from last and he is fully aware of what he needs to work on to be a better player.

Whilst United fans will appreciate his honesty on the fact that he has been well below par, actions speak louder than words, and many will reserve judgement until he does begin to contribute regularly to the team’s success.

Dominos Pizza company could not resist poking fun at the Brazilian however and released a post on their X account in response to his interview.

Highlighting the section of the interview where he says, “rest assured, you’ll hear the name Antony in relation to goals and assists this season”, they posted in response, “wouldn’t trust him to deliver a pizza.”

Dominos have made a bit of a name for themselves for mocking footballers and football teams as even yesterday they commented on Tottenham Hotspur’s signing of Dominic Solanke by claiming, “have a Spurs trophy cabinet pizza to celebrate”, then posting a picture of a wide-open empty pizza box.

It is also not the first time that United have been the butt of the joke from a fast food company.

On last season’s woeful Champions League exit at the group stage, KFC mocked a previous post about Erik ten Hag’s United “cooking” as they posted a photo of a “SFC” frozen product to deride a competitor and United in one fell swoop.

As for Antony, with a sale looking impossible this season, all United fans can hope for is that he somehow can return to the form that saw him shine for Ajax under Ten Hag before.
