Two weeks into the WNBA season, the Washington Mystics are still in search of their first win. Will that search come to an end tonight at home against the Atlanta Dream (7:00 pm ET, MSN)?

No team currently has more losses than the Indiana Fever, who dropped to 1-7 last night with an 88-82 loss to the Los Angeles Sparks. But the Fever have at least gotten into the win column, which they did against the Sparks last Friday in Los Angeles.

The Mystics have put forth robust resistance in most of their games, but they don’t have anything to show for it yet. Tonight is a good opportunity to change that, but the Dream (2-2) have shown some good things against decent competition thus far, even in defeat.

Atlanta Dream vs Washington Mystics Betting Analysis

The Mystics are coming off their worst loss of the season, a 101-69 defeat at Seattle on Saturday. The loss to the Storm rounded out an 0-3 road trip against the Western Conference, and it was also their first double-digit loss of the season.

That Washington has been blown out only once despite losing every game to this point is something worth noting. That may change in the coming days as they follow tonight’s game against Atlanta with road games against the New York Liberty and Connecticut Sun, but they lost by only five to New York at home to open the season and by seven at Connecticut in the following game.

Ultimately, as competitive as they have largely been, the Mystics aren’t scoring enough right now.

Against a team that is shooting the ball fairly well (44.7% FG and 36.9% 3PT), Washington is likely going to be in some trouble if the Dream are able to shoot close to their averages.

In Sunday’s loss to the Minnesota Lynx, the Dream gave up a season-high 92 points, scored a season-low 79 points, and shot a season-low 27.3% (6 of 22) from three. But even that season low is just one point off of the Mystics’ season high, which they have achieved twice.

Will the Mystics put in another competitive shift? I think they will. But will it result in their first win of the season? I don’t think it will. The Dream have a quartet of offensive threats, and I don’t think the Mystics will be able to stop all of them or match them.
