Liverpool’s four players were called up in England on Tuesday, which included two surprises, as Arne Slott spoke for the first time since being confirmed as Reds head coach.
The quartet of Reds is part of England’s national team at the 2024 European Championship
It’s not too long until Euro 2024 kicks off, with Andy Robertson’s Scotland taking on hosts Germany in the first leg on June 14.
Gareth Southgate named his preliminary 33-man England squad for the tournament on Tuesday, with Trent Alexander-Arnold, Joe Gomez, Curtis Jones and Jarell Quansah selected.
It’s a proud moment for Jones and Quansah, neither of whom have played at senior level, with the selection of the latter a particular surprise.

However, there was no place for Harvey Elliott or Jordan Henderson, with the latter having endured a torrid time since leaving Liverpool.
The squad will be reduced to 26 players for the tournament itself, so there is no guarantee that Jones and Quansah will fly to Germany – which could be good from Liverpool’s perspective.
Diogo Jota, meanwhile, has been named in Portugal’s squad for the Euros.
