Manchester United have posted a feel-good video of Erik ten Hag meeting Joshua Zirkzee at Carrington for the first time.

Zirkzee completed his transfer from Serie A side Bologna earlier this week in a €40 million deal.

In the video, Ten Hag asks Zirkzee if he is hungry.

He then says “Ruud [van Nistelrooy] is waiting for you.

“Hopefully You can learn something from him … he has scored a goal or two”.

Zirkzee replies “quite a few goals, yes.”

In a longer extract of the video that we cannot show here for copyright reasons, Ten Hag starts the conversation by saying:

“Welcome Josh finally! Congratulations!

“You told me you love challenges.”

Zirkzee replied “Yes, that’s right” before Ten Hag continued:

“The higher [better] the entourage, the better you get.”

Zirkzee replied “Yes exactly”, before Ten Hag goes on to suggest lunching with Van Nistelrooy.

Carrington is certainly becoming an orange shade of red these days.

In addition to Ten Hag, Van Nistelrooy and Rene Hake on the coaching team, Zirkzee will also be working alongside Tyrell Malacia, who he said in another interview he went to school with.

They may also still be joined by Matthijs de Ligt, who remains a target despite the fact that United appear to have completed a deal to sign Lille’s Leny Yoro.

There are also plenty of stars in the United squad who have plied their trade in the Dutch Eredivisie, including Christian Eriksen, Lisandro Martinez, Andre Onana, Antony and Mason Mount.
