Manchester United have received a boost as Paris Saint-Germain could be open to a loan with an obligation to buy next summer for Manuel Ugarte.

The Red Devils have already brought in Joshua Zirkzee and Leny Yoro this July but are on the lookout for more squad improvements.

A deal for the Moroccan right back Noussair Mazraoui seems to be advancing as Aaaron Wan-Bissaka’s sale to West Ham United gains traction.

The Red Devils are also locked in negotiations with Bayern Munich over a move for central defender Matthijs de Ligt.

Nonetheless, midfield remains a key area for the club to bolster and Ugarte seems like the number one choice for this role as they have spent weeks negotiating with the French champions.

Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano has given a rather positive update on the player’s future from a United perspective as he has stated that “what I am hearing is that PSG could be open to a loan with an obligation to buy for Manuel Ugarte.”

“Still, an obligation, still a mandatory clause, not a loan with buy option, not at the moment. We know things can change in the market but at the moment PSG want a permanent transfer”.

The midfielder has already agreed personal terms with United and has made it clear to PSG that he wants the move to England and he is “waiting and hoping” for the two clubs to find an agreement.

The Red Devils have struggled to reach a settlement for the midfielder as they have their own PSR issues and cannot buy without first selling.

It was hoped earlier in the summer that Casemiro could be sold but it now seems the club is planning to start the season with him and the most realistic option to generate funds for the midfield would be the departure of Scott McTominay, as Fulham are reportedly readying a second improved offer for the player.

Nonetheless, if United cannot get a deal over the line to sell one of their midfielders, a loan deal this summer could help immensely towards getting an agreement for the Uruguayan.

An obligation to buy next year could commit the expenditure to 2025 and free up space to complete other permanent transfers for further defensive reinforcements this window.
