WACO, Texas – Baylor football has announced its game themes for the 2024 season, including a call to action for fans to be involved in a variety of promotions for gameday at McLane Stadium. The home slate will feature four games focused on green, gold and the newly minted anthracite plus a community event to open the season.
The Aug. 31 season lid-lifter vs. Tarleton, a 6 p.m. kickoff, will serve as the Bears’ annual Kickoff for the Community event. As part of the annual celebration, Baylor will host its first Youth Football Day. Local youth teams are invited to a pre-game event that features pre-game Chalk Talk with a member of the Baylor Football staff, photos and more on the field.
To honor the service of our men and women in the military, the Bears will debut new anthracite uniforms as part of Mission Black Ops for the Sept. 14 clash with Air Force, a 6:30 p.m. kickoff. In addition to Mission Black Ops, Baylor will host Air Force for Family Weekend, Salute to Service and honor the 1974 Southwest Conference Champions. Fans are encouraged to wear all black for the evening kickoff and participate in activations celebrating our service members on the plaza.
The Bears will also host a Gold Out on Sept. 28 vs. BYU, continuing its Go Gold initiative continues across all Baylor athletics events at the first home conference game of each sport. Licensed vendors continue to expand their gold collections each year to provide options for the Baylor Family.
In addition to the team donning the Sailor Bear helmet, fans are encouraged to stripe out McLane Stadium in green & gold for the Homecoming showdown with Oklahoma State. Details on assigned color sections will be released via BaylorBears.com and social media at the start of the season.
On Nov. 2, Baylor will welcome home the 2013-14 Big 12 Conference Championship teams. The Bears will host a championship celebration steeped in tradition with unique nods to the 2013-14 teams. Baylor will also celebrate the 2024 Baylor Athletics Hall of Fame class.
In the regular-season finale on Nov. 30 vs. Kansas, the Bears honor its seniors on Senior Day.
Remaining fan coordination for the games vs. TCU and Kansas will be determined with the Big 12’s television and game time designations.
