Star FC Cincinnati midfielder and reigning Major League Soccer Most Valuable Player Luciano Acosta has been named the MLS Player of the Month for May.The league announced the award on Friday. It’s the fifth time Acosta has won Player of the Month and his fourth with FCC.In the month of May, Acosta became the first player in club history to record a goal contribution in nine consecutive matches. He also played a pivotal role as FC Cincinnati recorded a club-record seven-match winning streak.Acosta, who celebrated his 30th birthday Friday, has followed up his 2023 MVP campaign with another stellar performance, recording seven goals and 10 assists.The first two Player of the Month awards this season were both given to players from Inter Miami CF. Luis Suarez won the hardware for February/March and Lionel Messi was crowned with the award in April. After seeing its’ seven-game winning streak snapped Wednesday night against Nashville SC, FC Cincinnati will be back in action on June 15 against San Jose.
