While Cardile’s next destination has not been revealed, reports have linked the Italian with a move to Aston Martin, a team that recently hired former Mercedes Power Unit chief Andy Cowell as Group Chief Executive Officer, replacing Martin Whitmarsh.

Ferrari have also made signings of their own recently, with the squad confirming in May that Loic Serra will join as Head of Chassis Performance Engineering in October of this year. Serra previously acted as Performance Director at Mercedes.

Another arrival in October will be Jerome d’Ambrosio. The ex-racing driver is set to become Deputy Team Principal after departing his position as the head of the Silver Arrows’ young driver programme.

At the halfway point of the 2024 season, Ferrari currently sit in second place of the constructors’ championship but hold just a seven-point lead over McLaren in third, while fourth-placed Mercedes are continuing to chase their rivals.
