The Indiana Fever is off to a difficult start in the 2024 WNBA season despite having highly anticipated rookie and first-overall pick Caitlin Clark on their team and last year’s top overall pick, Aliyah Boston.

The team has begun the ongoing season with a record of 0-5, with three double-digit defeats.

Fever head coach Christin Sides defended her team, deeming the hateful comments they’re facing unwarranted.

“The hate and the vile language directed to these players, these guys are showing up everyday doing their job, trying to learn each other, trying to get better. For them to have to deal with that after coming every day and giving it their all is just not fair,” Sides said.

“Caitlin uses the word grace a lot, give us some grace. Give these guys some grace. They deserve that. They don’t deserve what’s being said,” the 47-year-old tactician added.

Indiana Fever inching closer to first win

After suffering blowout losses in their first three games, including a 36-point defeat against the New York Liberty in their second game, Indiana is edging closer to a win.

The team lost its fourth game against the Connecticut Sun by four points and its most recent game against the Seattle Storm by two points.

They will face the Los Angeles Sparks in their next game on Friday, May 24, at the Crypto.com Arena in LA.
