After strengthening at the back and upfront, INEOS are focussing on midfield next but need to sell before they can bring in their third new first-team signing of the summer window.

INEOS would like to move Casemiro on despite the defensive midfielder patching things up with Erik ten Hag but so far, no Saudi Arabian teams have come forward with a definite bid though his agent is in talks with two clubs.

The Dutch manager would like to keep hold of Scott McTominay and even praised the academy graduate after his display against Real Betis on Thursday.

However, the Scotland international is the United midfielder attracting the most interest with quite a few Premier League clubs and Galatasaray interested in his services.

McTominay in demand

Fulham saw their second bid of around £20 million get rejected while the Turkish giants’ latest bid was less than that. The Red Devils would like a minimum of £30 million considering the player’s exploits last term.

The Scotsman scored 10 goals and his strikes helped the club win 12 points. While his overall contribution was criticised by many, nobody can deny that those goals really came in handy in a disappointing league season for the club.

As per Sky Sports, the Cottagers remain in talks with the 20-time English league champions but if they do not lower their demands, the London team are prepared to walk away.

“Fulham interest in Manchester United midfielder Scott McTominay remains. Improved bid of around £20 m short of United valuation.

Fulham could leave negotiations

“Dialogue open – but Fulham prepared to walk away if gap in valuation proves insurmountable. Alternative targets being looked at,” Dharmesh Sheth wrote on X (formerly Twitter).

Ten Hag would be more than happy with this outcome as McTominay always gives his all for the club irrespective of his lack of minutes.

However, currently, he seems to be the most sellable asset and INEOS will need to take a big call. United are eyeing Manuel Ugarte of Paris Saint-Germain as their ideal midfield recruitment.

PSG have so far refused to lower their valuation but a loan deal could be on the cards. Sofyan Amrabat also remains an option, but not for the deal that was agreed last summer.
