Gary Neville has been working again for Manchester United in a recent appearance in India.

The former Red Devil played 602 times for the club, winning every trophy available.

The full back was a vital member of the treble winning side in 1999 and is one of the six members of the famous Class of 92 alongside the likes of David Beckham and Paul Scholes.

Neville retired in 2011 and has worked as a pundit for Sky Sports since.

He is also co-owner of fourth division club Salford City.

The Sun report that Neville “is back working for Manchester United in India.”

“The ex-Red Devils captain has returned to the fold as a freelance ambassador after attending an event at the Minerva academy in Mohali.”

“Neville posted on his Instagram stories of his visit to Asia where he attended the Apollo Tyres flagship grassroots football programme.”

According to The Express, “at the event, he delivered a speech against an impressive backdrop featuring the iconic Manchester United badge.”

The news comes in the context of Sir Alex Ferguson’s time as a club ambassador coming to an end in a cost-cutting measure from Sir Jim Ratcliffe and Ineos, that was announced last week.

Neville is just one of a number of former players who have different ambassadorial roles with varying responsibilities.

The 49 year old however is also involved in Ratcliffe’s stadium task force which is exploring plans to create a new “Wembley of the North” to replace the outdated Old Trafford.

It was recently reported that the club hopes to submit plans for new 100,000 seater stadium before the end of the calendar year. It would cost around £2 billion with completion scheduled for 2028.
