Manchester United have finally agreed a deal to sign Joshua Zirkzee from Bologna.

Fabrizio Romano tweeted: “Joshua Zirkzee to Manchester United, here we go! Man United will NOT trigger the clause but pay slightly above €40m with better payment terms, in three years. Zirkzee signs until June 2029 with option for further season.”

Zirkzee will be the first signing under the new INEOS ownership.

United have decided not to trigger Zirkzee’s release clause but have negotiated better payment terms spread over three years.

The 23 year old is expected to sign a contract until June 2029, with an option to extend for an additional season.

This move marks the beginning of what promises to be a significant reshaping of the squad under the new INOES management.

Zirkzee offers a blend of youth and experience, having already showcased his potential in Serie A.

His arrival could provide much-needed depth and versatility to United’s attacking options, supporting both Rashford and Højlund upfront.

With his impressive technical skills and a keen eye for goal, Zirkzee is seen as a potential long-term asset for the club.

The acquisition of Zirkzee also signals INEOS’s commitment to strengthening the squad and supporting Erik ten Hag’s vision.

This high-profile signing will likely boost morale among supporters, who are eager to see how the new era unfolds.

Romano’s report indicates that Zirkzee’s signing is imminent, bringing a fresh wave of excitement to Old Trafford.
