As the 2024 NBA Finals wind down, the Larry O’Brien Championship Trophy is preparing for a new owner.

The Boston Celtics can grasp the trophy with a win against the Dallas Mavericks on Friday, which would complete a four-game sweep for their 18th championship.

A win would give Boston a 16-2 record in the 2024 postseason, making them the sixth team to lose two or fewer games in the playoffs since the current playoff format began in 1984, according to ESPN Stats & Information.

The Larry O’Brien Trophy is named after the NBA commissioner from 1975 to 1984. O’Brien played a key role in the ABA-NBA merger in 1976 and in the adoption of the 3-point line in 1979.

The 29-pound trophy has had a busy build up to the Finals, traveling to various locations during its annual postseason tour. From London to Miami, here are highlights of the Larry O’Brien Trophy tour during the 2024 NBA playoffs.
