Inter Miami announced the renewal of Benjamin Cremaschi’s contract until the end of 2027 on Monday, with the option of an additional year.

A United States-Argentina dual national, who has already made his U.S. debut at the Paris Olympics, Cremaschi, 19, was instrumental last season in helping Miami, led by Lionel Messi, win the Leagues Cup for the first time.

The midfielder, who came out of the Inter Miami youth academy, has played 59 games for the MLS club, scoring six goals and contributing nine assists in all competitions.

“It feels good to sign this contract, knowing that I will continue at Inter Miami is a great achievement … I am happy to continue representing this city,” Cremaschi said in a statement. “Everything has helped me, from the academy, to Inter Miami CF II, to reaching the first team. I’m going to work hard on the pitch for myself and for the people around me, for this city, to be an inspiration for more kids like me.”

Along with Luis Suárez, Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba, Messi’s Inter Miami is first in the Eastern Conference with 62 points and the favorite to take home this year’s MLS Supporters’ Shield.
