The managerial dominoes are falling one after the other and at this rate even an FA Cup final could be enough to save Erik ten Hag.

The Peoples Person recently reported that Ten Hag is set to leave United in the summer, and now the list of potential replacements has just been boosted.

BBC Sports are reporting that Kieran McKenna is ready to reject a new contract offer from Ipswich Town as he feels now is the right time to move.

McKenna, a former United manager, has been the apple of the elite clubs’ eye after masterminding stunning back-to-back promotion campaigns for Ipswich.

The report claims Chelsea are leading the race for him, Brighton are interested, while United’s situation with Ten Hague could yet prove to be tortuous.

It’s a whole domino as Chelsea have parted ways with Mauricio Pochettino, who also figures to be a top target for United now that he’s available.

Roberto de Zerbi was already a wanted man, but his departure from Brighton has now made him much easier to access.

Add to that the departure of Thomas Tuchel from Bayern Munich and suddenly, the mitigating factor of not having quality replacements to keep Ten Hag in the job disappears.

The Dutchman had a terrible second season at the club, and even a string of injuries wasn’t enough of a factor for performances.

It was long believed that INEOS would make a decision on him after the FA Cup final, but it was always unlikely that the far-sighted management structure would base their decision on one game.

With the dominoes falling around Ten Hag plus recent reports emerging about his future, it looks like the decision has already been made.

After all, it won’t be the first time that the Dutch Man United manager has left the club after winning the FA Cup due to a poor league performance.

The difference this time is that United is not even the favorite for that trophy!
