It’s been a busy day of news as the Premier League voted to retain VAR and a transfer request emerged linking Liverpool with Michael Olise.
Michael Olise transfer request
A report from Yorkshire outlet, Leeds Live, states that Liverpool “have been eyeing Crystal Palace’s Michael Olise” and “is believed to be their transfer priority”.
That’s according to journalist James Smailes, who also says Liverpool are understood to have “ended their interest in Crysencio Summerville despite being early favorites to sign the player”.
He added: “Should the Reds land Olise, Palace are expected to use part of the potential £60m transfer fee to bring Summerville to Selhurst Park and the Eagles have made their interest known.”
At first glance, it’s hard to believe that Liverpool would spend £60m on Olise, who missed Premier League games last season with knee injuries.
Olise is a right winger and, for Liverpool, that kind fee would be a worthy signing rather than someone who will play second fiddle to Mo Salah for at least a year.
That doesn’t rule out any interest from the Reds, but a £60m move looks unlikely.
