The FA Cup is almost two weeks behind us, but the smell of that victory is still fresh in the minds of Manchester United fans.

It was a poetic victory in the sense that the goals were scored by two of United’s famed academy success stories in Alejandro Garnacho and Kobbie Mainoo.

Garnacho joined United at 16, but Mainoo is Carrington through and through.

The entire season was a rocket launch to superstardom for him, but his performance in the final sealed his place as a superstar for the here, now, and the future.

Now his rise has been cemented with yet another award, this time the FA Cup Player of the Season as voted for by the fans.

Mainoo was man of the match in the final, but even before the marquee game, he was a key piece of the puzzle.

Erik ten Haag has already revealed that it was his plan to integrate the player into the first team from the beginning of the season.

However, an injury in the pre-season put those plans on hold, but the fans will argue that the wait was worth it, and so will they.

He became a mainstay in a midfield that featured the likes of Casemiro, Christian Eriksen and Sofyan Amrabat, all established internationals.

His performances throughout the season, and especially in the big games, have seen his stock rise incredibly to the point where he is now considered a starter for England.

United have reportedly acknowledged Mainoo’s rise in the form of a new contract as well, with the teenager set to sign a new deal after the Euros.

It’s been a crazy rise for Mainoo, who won the FA Youth Cup with the U18s just two seasons ago and is now the toast of the tournament at senior level.

The fans and the club hope that this is just the beginning of the honors that await Mainoo in the glittering career ahead.
