After his team’s 2-1 win over Lyon in the final, journalists asked Mbappe why he had not officially revealed his next club.
“Because I think the best thing to do is to finish the farewell,” the France captain said in the mixed zone at the Pierre Maurois Stadium in Lille.
“All I wanted was to finish the season well. There is a time for everything. I will announce my new club in due course. It will be in a few days so there is no problem.”
After coming under pressure from journalists if that meant the transfer would be official before the national team meets to prepare for the European Championship, Mbappe added: “I still don’t know, there are still some details. The most important thing is wins and experience.” These are the ultimate feelings.”
Mbappe spoke about how he felt during his final match for Paris Saint-Germain after seven seasons.
He said: “Nostalgia and emotion; it was great. I always understood where I was, this unique experience of playing for Paris Saint-Germain. Playing for Paris Saint-Germain, I would recommend it.”
“I was lucky enough to experience it. What I experienced, I wouldn’t experience anywhere else. Now I’m going to try something else and I’m sure it will be magical too.”
