eight Major League Soccer teams were in action as League Cup Tournament started with five games on Friday night.
The League Cup is a mid-season tournament involving teams from MLS and LIGA MX in Mexico. In total, 47 teams will play 77 matches in a World Cup-style tournament. The championship match will be played on August 25.
Lionel Messi’s Inter Miami won the first League Cup last year, but Messi will not be in action when the club begins its title defense on Saturday.
