Fresh details have emerged on Manchester United’s deal for Lille star Leny Yoro, with the player now just one step away from being considered the latest arrival at Old Trafford.

Earlier on Wednesday, the reliable David Ornstein broke the news that Yoro was travelling to the UK to undergo his United medical. This came after the Red Devils reached an agreement with Lille over the teenager’s transfer fee.

It was repeatedly mentioned that Real Madrid were Yoro’s preferred destination but the reigning La Liga champions were not willing to meet Lille’s asking price.

Madrid’s dithering and United’s vigorous efforts to persuade the defender that his future lies at Old Trafford seem to have eventually swayed Yoro to seriously consider joining Erik ten Hag’s ranks.

Ornstein has since given an update on the situation and indicated that it’s expected that Yoro will put pen to paper on his terms at the United in the next 24 hours.

Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano even sealed the transfer with his famous “here we go” catchphrase.

According to Foot Mercato, Yoro will specifically sign his United deal tomorrow morning and then he will officially be recognised as a Red Devils player.

The news outlet explains, “Leny Yoro (18 years old) to Manchester United, it’s done! Arrived in England to undergo his medical, the young LOSC defender has completed the medical examinations. With success.”

“According to our information, he also visited the Mancunian club’s facilities this afternoon.”

“The signing of the contract and the officialization of his transfer are scheduled for tomorrow morning. As a reminder, the Dogues will receive approximately €62 million.”

United are getting an extremely solid player in Yoro who 18 is already one of the best in his position in Europe.

Last term, the Frenchman won 65% of his aerial duels, 61% of his ground duels & completed 92% of his passes in Ligue 1.

He is the only defender below 23 in Europe’s top five leagues to win over 60% of his aerial & ground duels as well as completing over 90% of his passes.

Among teenage defenders in Europe’s top five leagues, Yoro completed the most accurate passes (1872), won the most tackles (35), made the most interceptions (36), registered the most ball recoveries (124) and also won the most aerial duels (46).

In the 32 top-flight appearances he made, he helped Lille keep 15 clean sheets while also scoring twice in the process.
